Call It A Ritual by Wolf Parade

These guys are awesome. I first work their work on the Muzak for Cybernetics podcast and was really intrigued. I immediately fired up the iTunes Music Store and purchased Apologizes to the Queen. I loved it.

Then…nothing. I wanted more, but there was no more to have. Sure, there were the side projects, which I did check out a little, but I wanted Wolf Parade, not Sunset Rubdown, not Handsome Furs; Wolf Parade.

Now, finally, Wolf Parade will be releasing At Mount Zoomer, their sopohmore album, very soon. And I am excited. I cannot wait. - Commander K

Miami by Chin Chin

This Brooklyn band has a funky sound that is completely retro, but still rock-related. Their style can be deemed a “blast from the past” with their old school influences, but their reinterpretation and musical spin is still fresh and mainstream. Many music connoisseurs may even venture to say that the music world has been missing a sound like this. - Erin Kelleher, The Louisville Cardinal

Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin

“Usually, overly long band names point to an irritating sense of self-importance. Why else would you make someone spend a full minute enunciating your name, or force your fans to apply some ridiculous acronym? But somehow, by about 15 seconds into “Glue Girls,” the lead track from Pershing, Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin is easily forgiven.” - Nicholas L. Hall, Miami New Times via Jonk Music

Bryan Scary and the Shredding Tears

“I remember finding myself in a state of regret when I discovered Bryan Scary & The Shredding Tears’ debut early last year. With its portrayal of infectious ‘60s pop clashing fluidly with thematically invigorating forms of contemporary indie-rock, the quality exhibited would have likely stuck it in the top 20 of my “Best Albums of 2006” had I found it a few months earlier.” - Obscure Sound
